Return Policy Page

Set up a clear return policy, buyers feel more at ease when shopping

Items with a clear return policy have a higher chance of successfully selling. According to our research, "Easy to return" is the biggest shopping barrier recognized by buyers. Therefore, sellers with a clear return policy on their listing pages will have an advantage over other sellers. Items with a return policy tend to sell at a higher rate than sellers without a return policy.

The reason is simple: buyers tend to feel more comfortable buying from sellers with return policies. In addition, our research also shows that very few items are actually returned. A detailed return policy will help you increase your sales rate.

When sellers sell items, they must provide a return policy, which also includes a non-acceptance of returns. If no return policy is specified, eBay will automatically select the default return policy for the seller.

Note: If eBay determines that the item is significantly different from the listing description, the seller must accept the return.

Suggested return policy options to consider:

If you don't have a return policy in place, consider the following options that will help you increase your sales rate:

• Refunds (eg: returnable for a full refund, or credit for future purchases)

100% Satisfaction Guarantee (eg: returns are accepted unconditionally)

• Time constraints (eg: Items can be returned within 30 days of receipt)

• Free return shipping (eg: seller pays return shipping)
