UPDATED REVIEW:It's been six months of use, and the hair buffer is still going strong.I used to have "chicken skin" and it was such a complex that I always wore shirts with sleeves. The bumps haven't completely disappeared, but they're mainly only apparent to me, who clearly is more critical of my skin than anyone else would be.I loved how silky it made my skin feel, but now I have people commenting on how smooth my skin looks. The skin exfoliation you get in addition to hair removal is probably the best benefit.I've started to buy these for random small gift needs. They're definitely going to be stocking stuffers this year. The only thing I would say to ensure the best performance is to clean the buffer every time you use it.ORIGINAL REVIEW:As I aged, the hair on my arms and legs have gotten finer and finer, up to the point that no one notices if I haven't shaved for months (except for my husband lol). I also have keratosis pilaris, which tends to cause ingrown hairs from my weak hair follicles. I've tried various creams and treatments, and this hair remover seems to be the best solution for me so far.So I've tried other buff away hair removers, and they end up just abrading my skin and leaving the hairs in tact, because they're so fine. This one actually works, and with less force and effort than the other sandpaper type buff removers. Don't get me wrong, if you overbuff, you WILL hurt. It's like the worst razer burn you've had in your life.I've had the best results with moving the buffer in fairly large circular motions or just moving vertically, then horizontally across the surface. You don't need to apply much pressure at all.I'd do minimal buffing the first time to see if it causes any pain, then progressively do more later. The first patch I tested felt fine when I was doing it, but 10min later, it turned red and burned when I applied lotion. Instructions say to use creams or lotions beforehand for sensitive skin. I did that for the small hairs on my upper lip, and it worked perfectly. My skin is super smooth and the baby hairs are gone.I've tried using it in the shower with various soaps, and I feel like this causes too much friction, which can cause excessive abrasion.I'd definitely recommend this product, but test in small patches and work progressively with very little pressure. Longer strokes worked best for me, but it my be different for others. It'll take time and patience to find the optimal amount of pressure and number of passes, but when you find it, it'll be well worth the effort. I'm so happy I can stop buying expensive shaving creams/gels.

I don't write a lot of reviews, but I had to about this product. Iheard about this product and I needed something for those times when I noticed hairs on my legs I missed while shaving. I started using the hair eraser for this and it works pretty well. There is an added bonus for people like me who suffer with keratosis pilaris or as My mother called it "chicken skin". When I tell you I've tried everything under the sun to get rid of it, I am not lying. This hair eraser sands off the chicken skin. I have had this condition since I was a child. Bumpy red dotted skin on my legs. Now my legs are smooth and the spots are so much less noticable. I cant believe it, I could cry. Thank you Crystal Hair Eraser for literally changing my life!!Just as a side note, the package says do not use on face. I thought I'd try it on my hairy jawline. It removed the hair but irritated my skin sooo much! Follow the warning!!!!

The short story: It works! This is a nifty little tool that is a great alternative to traditional hair removal, such as waxing and shaving. Low maintenance and simple, which seems to be a rarity these days. At this price point, it's a lot of bang for your buck - especially if the alleged use being up to 3 years rings true. But you do have to ask yourself if you're willing to put in the work (because this thing will ABSOLUTELY make you work), be patient, and spend more time than you would on methods like waxing or shaving. Honestly I liked this product a lot, and ended giving it 4 stars instead of the 3 I thought it deserved initially because practice does in fact lead to improvement. Overall, not a bad investment! The longer, more detailed story: When I say this thing is nifty, I mean it is Nifty. The concept of etched glass to remove hair us fascinating to me, and I wonder why it took so long for me to hear about something like this. I decided to give it a try, and am happy that I did so. Like I said before - it works. But that being said, it certainly isn't for everyone. For starters, this tool takes a lot of energy and time - especially with the first few (or several) uses. It will take longer than shaving and longer than waxing because it takes a lot of work. Which makes sense given the instructions and concept. Small circles over the expansive surface of your legs/arms/chest/whatever you fancy to be smooth takes a while, and when you're figuring just how much pressure to apply so you can remove hair but not remove that top layer of skin... expect to clear your schedule for your first attempt. But if you decide to purchase, chin up. Practice will take you far, I promise! Once you figure out the delicate balance of pressure that works for you, it'll be an enjoyable experience. It does make your skin silky smooth, as it exfoliates and buffs your skin as you go over it. I definitely get to the point where I ask my partner to FeEl HoW SoFt My LeGs ArE. Especially since I am someone who removes the hair on my legs when it suites my fancy - I might go months without removing hair or I can do it weekly (more like every other day with my growth honestly) - it just depends on my mood. So this tool is a great option for me. I can keep it in a dry place and it will be ready when I am - whether that's on a few days or a few months. No need to worry about having a sharp razor at hand or booking and appointment with the talented but also extremely intimidating cerologist at my favorite salon. My hair also likes to grow in ways that leads to ingrowns, which are very uncomfortable and unsightly. In the weeks that I've owned this crystal eraser, I've found that my ingrown hairs have reduced and that my hair even grows in finer in some places. It also comes in less rapidly than when I have shaved and waxed in the past. But while this product has suited my needs, this all leads to my second con - this thing is not the easiest on skin. You will definitely "burn" yourself if you apply to much pressure and the unfortunate fact is that this is so easy to do. All it takes is a few stubborn hairs and a little impatience for you to end up with a patch of scoured skin because you went over the spot more than you should have. If you have a condition that makes your skin thinner, sensitive, and/or makes wounds slower to heal that is something you have to consider before using. I have dry skin, so regular exfoliation is nice for the feel, but on the other hand I have to be very careful not to "burn" myself as I heal very slowly. I have done it twice now and it is NOT a good sensation. And then there is the work that's involved... good grief. A true reminder of the fact that simple does not always mean easy. You are going to need a lot - A LOT - of elbow grease. Thick, coarse, and/or long hair will test your patience. This is true whether you try a wet or dry removal process. Removing the hair when your skin is wet makes it less likely that you will scour yourself, but makes it harder to see the hair removed and get a good grip to make your skin as taunt as possible. Removing the hair when your skin is dry gives you a better look at what you're able to remove, but is pretty messy. You will have a lot of dead skin that doesn't clump as it would in water, leading to a lot of dust. It might look like you were sawing a plank in two rather than smoothing out your legs, I'm going to be honest. And last but not least, a quarrel I have with this tool is that I don't believe that is as versatile as it is marketed as. Obviously hair removal on your legs is a good use for it, that's what my entire review has revolved around. But personally I would not use this on other parts of my body. I don't remove hair on my arms, but with how sensitive my skin is on those limbs of mine I wouldn't risk it. This would likely damage the skin on your chest if you're of the softer variety - think breasts and skin that isn't super taunt in that area. I couldn't
